Using a fine mesh sieve for cakes makes a difference.

Making cakes is easy with the kitchen sieve as its fine mesh ensures that all lumps are removed from the dry ingredients. As you sift your flour, air will also be incorporated into it and this will make a noticeable difference to the lightness and texture of your cake mixtures, as well as doughs and batters.

Decorating With Icing Sugar.

The fine mesh flour sifter will also help you to achieve some quick, but effective garnishes and decorations using confectioners’ sugar or cocoa sprinkled over desserts, cakes and cookies. Macarons are one of the most popular recipes, but they are temperamental to make - whichever recipe you use. It is possible with practice to perfect your technique and this includes double sieving the almond flour and sugar.
